Hinduphobia and the persecution of Hindus has little or complete absence in the modern academia dominated by Marxist intellectuals. Hindu genocide such as in Kashmir, Pakistan, and Bangladesh has been suppressed by the international media and domestic intellectuals alike.

But in recent years, Hinduphobia has been mainstreamed due to successful activism by Hindu-centric organizations leading to it getting the deserved limelight and space finally. In a bid to capture the Hindu votebank in America while adressing a Diwali event former President Trump recognized Hinduphobia and promised to build a Hindu holocaust memorial in Washington DC.

Speaking at a Diwali event organised by Republican Hindu Coalition (RHC) at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida he said, " We had support from the Hindu population, the great Hindu people both times (2016 and 2020) and great support from India, people from India. I fully endorsed the idea of building a Hindu Holocaust memorial in (Washington) DC. I think it’s time we are going to get that done. "

The event was attended by about 200 Indian-Americans. He further promised to deepen India-US relations and take up India's issues in UN if elected to power in 2024. He said he would nominate RHC founder Shalabh Kumar as his ambassador to India if he gets elected as the US president in 2024. In his remarks, Kumar said Trump has been a strong friend to the Hindu community and the RHC is proud of the achievements it has made throughout the years to empower and embolden the diaspora in America.

However, Trump's promise recevied mixed response from political parties in India. JD (U) leader GM Shaheen said, "Appreciable if Trumps constructs Hindu Holocaust Memorial in Washington DC."

"I Want to remind Mr Trump that India is not only about Hindus, India is a country known for its heterogeneous composition- his statement undermines this. He is undermining the sacrifices made by many Muslims and many Sikhs. You cannot talk about RSS agenda here. " said NC's Zeeshan Rana.

BJP Spokesperson Altaf Thakur gave the credit to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said, "It is all because of PM Modi and his policies that the world is listening to India".
