Chariots to Bullets: Link between 1976 Rath Yatra Support and Trump’s assassination attempt

Trump gave the ISKCON devotees permission to utilize his recently acquired abandoned railway yard to build the Rath Yatra chariots.

Chaos broke out during a speech by former US President Donald Trump during a campaign rally on a sunny Saturday afternoon in Butler, Pennsylvania. From Chariots to Bullets, shots were fired, and Trump fell to the ground as Secret Service agents raced to protect him. Following the incident, it was discovered that Trump had just missed becoming the target of an attempted murder after a bullet had only scraped the top of his right ear.

A surprising claim has gone viral on social media, connecting Trump’s miraculous survival to an event over five decades ago – his support for the first-ever Jagannath Rath Yatra in New York City. This is all while the FBI investigates the shooting.

Trump’s Role in the Historic Jagannath Rath Yatra

The historic Jagannath Rath Yatra procession on the streets of New York in 1976 was made possible with Trump’s help, according to Radharamn Das, vice-president of ISKCON Kolkata.

The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) was facing several obstacles at the time as they prepared to host the city’s first-ever Rath Yatra. It wasn’t easy to find a suitable location for the enormous chariots until the followers approached Donald Trump, a 30-year-old real estate entrepreneur.

Granting Permission for the Parade

“While the grant of parade permit at Fifth Avenue was nothing short of a miracle, finding a huge empty site where chariots could be built was also never going to be easy. They knocked at the doors of every person possible, but in vain. It was then that the former US president Donald Trump emerged as a ray of hope for the Krishna devotees,” Das recalled.

Trump gave the ISKCON devotees permission to utilize his recently acquired abandoned railway yard to build the Rath Yatra chariots. This deed of kindness helped to establish the inaugural Jagannath Rath Yatra procession in New York City, which later turned into a yearly event.

Now, almost fifty years later, the ISKCON representative asserts that Lord Jagannath, the main deity of the Rath Yatra event, provided “divine intervention” for Trump’s narrow escape from the attempted assassinationRF.

“In July 1976, Donald Trump helped ISKCON devotees organize Rathayatra by providing his train yard for the construction of the raths for free. Today, as the world celebrates the 9-day Jagannath Rathayatra festival, this terrible attack on him and his narrow escape show Jagannath’s intervention,” Das wrote on X.

Significance of the Jagannath Rath Yatra

Every year, Puri, India hosts the Jagannath Rath Yatra, which is regarded as the oldest and biggest chariot event worldwide. A highly respected custom in Hinduism is the symbolic voyage of the three deities, Lord Jagannath, his brother Balabhadra, and their sister Subhadra, on lavishly decorated chariots.

Das claims that the fact that Trump escaped the attempted murder attempt during the current Rath Yatra celebration is unmistakable evidence of Lord Jagannath’s divine assistance.

Trump’s close ally Prime Minister Narendra Modi also responded to the attack, expressing his “deep concern”. President Joe Biden is among the other prominent figures who have denounced the violence and expressed relief that Trump escaped the attack.
