Climate change activists vandalised billionaire Walmart heiress Nancy Walton Laurie's superyacht in Ibiza with paint. The Futuro Vegetal group took responsibility for the act, stating that two of its members used fire extinguishers filled with paint to deface the "Kaos" superyacht. The group also shared photos of its members holding signs that read "You Consume Others Suffer" in front of the luxury yacht.

In a statement, Futuro Vegetal criticized the economic system that perpetuates inequality and harms the environment, asserting that the mega-rich profit at the expense of others' suffering. The Spanish Civil Guard reportedly arrested two individuals at the docks in connection with the incident.

According to sources, the targeted super-yacht was reportedly scheduled to depart Ibiza on July 16th, coinciding with the moment of the spray painting incident.

The Futuro Vegetal group stated that they deliberately chose to target Nancy Walton Laurie's yacht due to her status as one of the world's wealthiest women. As per Bloomberg's Billionaire Index, her estimated net worth amounts to $7.77 billion.

Nancy Walton Laurie's yacht garnered attention in May when various publications highlighted its remarkable features, including a swimming pool, aquarium, and helipad. The 361-foot superyacht also boasts amenities such as a cinema, spa facilities, gym, and even a small hospital for medical emergencies during voyages.

The act of vandalism on the yacht occurred in response to a call from the Extinction Rebellion Ibiza group, an activist organization advocating for the prohibition of private jets and luxury yachts due to environmental concerns surrounding emissions.

As part of their campaign in Ibiza, the activist group Futuro Vegetal launched a targeted effort to draw attention to private jets and yachts. This initiative included the spray painting of a private jet at Ibiza's airport, mirroring their recent act of vandalism on Nancy Walton Laurie's yacht.

Futuro Vegetal expressed their pride in joining the campaign in Ibiza, aiming to raise awareness for their cause. The group identifies itself as a civil disobedience and direct action organization dedicated to combating climate change.
