A Chinese man unfortunately passed away due to a heart attack just 13 days after undergoing a dental procedure that involved the removal of 23 teeth and placement of 12 implants all in one day. This incident has raised eyebrows and sparked concern after his daughter shared the details online on September 2.

She disclosed that her father's dental work took place at Yongkang Deway Dental Hospital on August 14. The procedure known as "immediate restoration" entailed removing all 23 teeth and inserting 12 implants in a session. The surgeon, with five years of experience in dental treatments such as root canals, wisdom tooth extractions and dentures performed the operation.

After the treatment the man experienced discomfort for a period. Sadly on August 28 he suffered a heart attack and passed away. His daughter expressed her grief saying, "I never thought my dad would be gone. He didn't even get to drive the new car we got for him."

The incident has raised questions, from both officials and the public. The Yongkang Municipal Health Bureau has confirmed that the case is under investigation, due to a gap of 13 days between the dental procedure and the mans death. Meanwhile the dental clinic involved in the procedure has sought legal counsel and opted to remain silent until the investigation concludes. Experts have weighed in on the potential risks linked to this dental procedure.

Xiang Guolin, the head of the Dental Medicine Centre at the Hospital of Universal Love in Wuhan pointed out that extracting 23 teeth in one day is both unusual and hazardous. Typically no more than 10 teeth are removed in a session. Such procedures require expertise and should consider the patients health condition, as Guolin explained.

The latest news has triggered responses, from users who were taken aback by the acceptance of such a procedure. One commenter remarked, "Removing 23 teeth in a day? How is that even a consideration? When I asked my dentist to extract wisdom teeth at once they refused."

Another person claiming to be a dentist mentioned, "I never pull out more than three teeth at a time unless they are really loose. This feels like an experiment rather than proper dental treatment." As the investigation unfolds it highlights the importance of prioritizing safety and following guidelines, for procedures.
