China on Tuesday took a dig at America’s haywire withdrawal from Afghanistan after Taliban terrorists forcefully took over Afghanistan a few weeks ago.

The response from China is supposedly a hit back after Vice President Kamala Harris criticised Beijing during her tour of Southeast Asia. In a major speech before departing Singapore on Tuesday, she offered a fiery slap down to china by condemning Beijing over the expansionist moves in the South China Sea.

Vice-President Harris said,”We know that Beijing continues to coerce, to intimidate, and to make claims to the vast majority of the South China Sea.”

“Beijing’s actions continue to undermine the rules-based order and threaten the sovereignty of nations,” she added.

Lastly, reassuring its regional allies, the Vice President that the United States stands with its allies and partners in the face of these threats. While Kamala’s speech was emphasising openness and inclusiveness for their allies and partners , yet it singled out Beijing for criticism, and hence bringing the severe hit back by China.

Hitting back at Kamala, China’s foreign ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin accused the US of hiding behind rhetoric of a rules-based global order to defend its own "bullying, hegemonic behaviour".

"The current events in Afghanistan clearly tell us what the rules and order the US speaks of are. The US can wantonly conduct military intervention in a sovereign country and does not need to be responsible for the suffering of the people in that country," Wang Wenbin fired back during a regular press briefing in Beijing.

"To maintain 'America first,' the US can wantonly smear, suppress, coerce and bully other countries without paying any price. This is the order the US wants," he remarked. "The U.S attempts to wield rules and order to justify its own selfishness and hegemonic behaviour, but who will believe it now?"

The end of 20 years of American security commitments in Afghanistan has sure gained criticism for their botched withdrawal from Afghanistan, leaving thousands of citizens at the mercy of Talibans.
