US Senator Lindsey Graham said that President Donald Trump is planning to take tough economic action against countries that keep buying oil from Russia. Speaking in a Fox News interview, Graham said Trump will impose a 100 percent tariff on oil-related imports from nations such as India, China, and Brazil.

“Trump is going to impose tariffs on people that buy Russian oil, China, India, and Brazil,” Graham said. These three countries are some of the biggest buyers of Russian oil, and together they account for around 80 percent of Russia’s crude oil exports.

Graham explained that this oil trade is helping Russian President Vladimir Putin by giving him money to continue the war in Ukraine. “President Trump’s going to put a 100 percent tariff on all those countries, punishing them for helping Putin,” he said.

The purpose of these tariffs is to cut off the money that helps fund Russia’s war. Graham warned that countries continuing to buy oil from Russia are making a big mistake. He said Trump’s plan will seriously impact their economies if they don’t change their path.

‘Buying Russian oil is blood money,’ says Graham

Senator Graham gave a strong warning to the leaders of India, China, and Brazil. “Here’s what I would tell China, India, and Brazil: If you keep buying cheap Russian oil to allow this war to continue, we’re going to tear the hell out of you, and we’re going to crush your economy, because what you’re doing is blood money,” he said.

“You’re buying cheap Russian oil at the expense of the world, and President Trump is tired of this game,” Graham added. He said that while Russia may survive under sanctions, countries like India and Brazil, which depend on trade with the US, will face heavy losses if Trump returns to power.

Graham directly addressed Russian President Vladimir Putin, saying, “You have played President Trump at your own peril. You made a major league mistake, and your economy is going to continue to be crushed.”

He said that the US is already helping Ukraine by sending weapons. “We’re sending weapons to Ukraine, so Ukraine will have the weapons to fight Putin back,” he said.

Graham also reminded viewers that Ukraine had given up its nuclear weapons in the 1990s in exchange for safety promises from Russia. But he said Putin broke that promise. “Putin wants to take countries that are not his. In the mid-90s, Ukraine gave up 1,700 nuclear weapons with a promise that their sovereignty would be respected by Russia. Putin broke that promise,” he said.

“He’s not going to stop until somebody makes him stop,” Graham warned.

Lastly, Graham praised Trump’s leadership, saying, “Donald Trump is the Scotty Scheffler of American politics and foreign diplomacy, and he’s about to put a whooping on your ass.”

He ended the interview by saying that countries will have to choose between Russia and America. “China, India, and Brazil, they’re about to face a choice between the American economy or helping Putin. And I think they’re going to come pick the American economy,” he said.
