In a direct reference to the India-China border stand-off, US Presidential candidate for the Democrats Joe Biden on Saturday “I said if United States and India became closer friends and partners then the world would be a safer place. If elected president I would continue to believe it and continue what I’ve long called for, standing with India confronting the threats it faces, in its own region and along its borders.”
“Fifteen years ago, I was leading the efforts to approve the historic civil nuclear deal with India. I said that if the US and India became closer friends and partners, then the world will be a safer place,” Biden, who was vice-president in the Obama administration, said while addressing the Indian-American community on India’s Independence Day.
A Biden administration also will place a “high priority” on bolstering ties with India, continue to strengthen India’s defence capabilities and bring the United States back into the Paris climate to work with India again to combat climate change, according to the agenda.
He even added that if voted to power in the November general elections, a Biden administration will reform the H-1B visa system and work towards eliminating the country-quota for Green Cards, in a move to attract the influential Indian-American community.
This comes after the Democrats chose Kamala Harris, an Indian-Jamaican native to run for Vice-President. This extreme scuffle between the two parties in order to vow the Indian community is clear as they are the ones who decide which way the American politics goes.
Although, undeniably the major support is for Trump is way more that Joe Biden as he also is in good relationship with PM Narendra Modi, but Biden and his companions like Kamala Harris too support 'Free Kashmir' which is a direct attack to India's sovereignty.
