Amid the ongoing tension between Iran and Israel, following the assassination of former Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, White House National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby came out with a statement cautioning about the possible unwarned attack by Iran. Kirby on Thursday said Iran could attack Israel anytime without any warning.
Kirby, during a phone briefing, said, "We have information that an attack could come with little or no warning, and certainly could come in coming days, and we have to be ready for it."
"I can’t sit here and tell you for sure that there’s been a decision
The Biden administration also stated that they were preparing for the possible attack by Iran and its proxies on Israel as retaliation for the recent assassinations of major leaders of Hamas and Hezbollah.
"We have to be prepared for what could be a significant set of attacks, which is why, again, we have increased our force posture and capabilities in the region even in just the last few days," Kirby mentioned in its earlier statement on Monday.
The White House was getting ready for the attack from the moment Iran came forward, blaming Israel for the assassinations. Meanwhile, Israel took responsibility for the murder of Fouad Shukr, Hezbollah commander, in Lebanon. They have not claimed any involvement in the killing of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh.
