A video from Tamil Nadu’s Dharmapuri district has gone viral, showing children giving massages to their headmaster inside a classroom. The incident occurred at Maveripatti Primary School in Harur, where approximately 30 children are enrolled. In the video, the headmaster, identified as Kalaivani, is seen lying on a table and reportedly instructing students to press her legs.

This unusual and disturbing scene spread quickly on social media, drawing criticism and concern. Once the video gained attention, officials from the education department visited the school to investigate. They confirmed that an official inquiry has been started, and strict action will be taken based on the findings. The matter has raised serious questions about the treatment of school children and the responsibility of teachers.

This is not the only troubling case reported recently in schools. In Kerala, on August 11, a Class 10 student at Kundamkuzhi Government Higher Secondary School in Kasaragod was allegedly assaulted by the school’s headmaster. The student suffered a ruptured eardrum because of the assault.

Following this, the Kerala Education Department ordered a detailed probe into the incident. In another case from Kerala, Education Minister V. Sivankutty directed the Director of General Education to conduct an inquiry after a Class 5 student at Cochin Public School in Thrikkakara was punished unusually and harshly.

The child was just three minutes late for school. As punishment, the student was first asked to run two laps around the ground. After that, the principal allegedly ordered the child to sit alone in a dark room until the parents came to pick them up.

The student later explained, “I reached school 2–3 minutes late. They made me run two rounds. Then the principal said either my parents should take me home or I had to sit alone in a room.” These incidents highlight serious concerns about discipline methods and the misuse of authority in schools. Parents and education activists have called for stronger measures to ensure the safety, dignity, and well-being of students.
