A video shared on social media has sparked a debate about the use of delivery services for short distances. In the video, a Porter delivery man narrates a delivery that appears to cover a very short distance, and his comments have left people divided between criticism and empathy.
The delivery man starts the video with, “Aaj Porter pe ek behtareen sa order aaya hai (I received a wonderful order on Porter today),” and documents the process. He shows the starting point, Tower 17, and then points to Tower 19, which is likely just a two-minute walk away. The order consists of a packet containing two controllers and a game. In the video, the delivery man says, “These people are so lazy.”
The video was shared by a user named Azhar Jafri on X, with the caption “Lucknow ke nawab chale gaye, nawabi chhod gaye (The Nawabs of Lucknow are gone, but their royal habits remain).” However, India Today could not independently verify the location of the video.

Some defend the customer; others criticise the delivery man
The video has caused mixed reactions from viewers. Some social media users defended the customer’s decision to use the delivery service. One user said, “Maybe it’s a young mother who can’t leave her kids or an old person who has mobility issues.” Another added, “Let’s not judge without knowing the full story.”
Others pointed out that it’s okay to use delivery services when they’re available. “If I’m busy working from home and my friend needs the controllers and game, I would do the same. There is a service available – why not use it?” said one user.
On the other hand, many criticised the delivery man’s sarcastic tone. One person called it “unprofessional”, while another suggested that he should be “fired”. Several also expressed concern about the breach of privacy. One comment read, “Clear breach of privacy. There may be a personal issue, like a leg injury or something else; therefore, such services are utilised.”
Criticism of the short-distance delivery
Some social media users also criticised the customer for using the delivery service for such a short distance. “Given the delivery is for 2 controllers and a CD, it’s likely they are just lazy,” one comment stated. Another user added, “And then people will complain about health problems.”
Porter has not yet responded to the incident. The debate continues, with some defending the customer’s use of the service while others question whether such services should be used for short distances.
