HAL-made Tejas, the Indian light combat aircraft, crashed on Friday (21 November) while participating in a demonstration at the Dubai Air Show. According to news agency AP, the incident took place around 2:10 PM local time during an aerial display being performed before a large crowd gathered at Al Maktoum International Airport, Dubai World Central.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing the aircraft lose control moments before it went down, following which thick black smoke billowed up into the sky. Several videos circulating on social media showed smoke rising from the crash site as emergency sirens rang out across the airfield. Fire trucks and rescue teams immediately rushed to the spot to control the blaze and secure the area.
