Dancer and reel creator Dhanashree Verma is once again in the public eye due to her troubled marriage with cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal. Recently, Dhanashree spoke about her difficult marriage on the show Rise and Fall. She opened up about the reasons behind the breakup and the challenges she faced following the divorce."Caught Him In The Second Month"

During chit chat with actor Kubbra Sait on the show, she asked Dhanashree when she realised her marriage with Chahal would not work. Dhanashree admitted, "First year. Caught him in the second month," leaving Kubbra visibly shocked.

Rumours of Alimony

Dhanashree Verma has openly spoken about her split from cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal before. On the show, she clarified that rumours about alimony after their divorce are false. Speaking to Aditya Narayan, she said, “Officially, it has been almost a year. It happened quickly because it was mutual. That’s why when people say alimony, it’s wrong. Just because I am not saying anything, you will go on saying anything? My parents taught me to justify only to people I care about. Why waste time explaining to those who don’t even know you?”

Dhanashree also spoke about the length of their marriage, saying they were married for four years and dated for 6–7 months before tying the knot. Talking about the public scrutiny she faced, she admitted, “Eventually, you get hurt when you see that happening. None of it is true. I felt worse wondering why he did it. It’s okay, I will always keep his respect. Now, I don’t think I can date anybody.”

Dhanashree’s emotional burst on the show

The reality show also showed Dhanashree struggling with conflicts inside the house. She broke down when co-contestant Akriti Negi revealed that actress Aahana Kumra allegedly made negative remarks about her, claiming she “clings to men.” The incident left Dhanashree visibly shaken.

Dhanashree’s lockdown romance to seperation

Dhanashree and Yuzvendra Chahal’s relationship began during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020 when they connected through her online dance classes. The whirlwind romance led to marriage the same year, but the couple eventually went through a highly publicised split, with divorce proceedings finalised in 2025.
