YouTube Integrates Veo with its Shorts platform, giving creators a new and upgraded experience. The video platform made this announcement during its "Made by YouTube" event, stating that it will help creators generate high-quality backgrounds as well as six-second clips.
Features offered by Veo
Veo comes with cutting-edge technology that allows users to create high-definition videos based on text prompts, enabling various cinematic styles and techniques, such as aerial shots and time-lapses. It was earlier this year, and now it competes with OpenAI's Sora.
YouTube explained how this integration will allow the creators to brainstorm video ideas within YouTube Studio. It will also allow them to create AI-generated thumbnails and respond to their subscribers using new AI-assisted comments.
The video hub had previously incorporated Dream Screen, an AI-powered innovation launched in 2023 for generating short backgrounds. However, this partnership looks more prominent as Veo is a powerful tool that can incorporate the ability to edit and remix existing generated footage, providing the creators with unparalleled flexibility and creative freedom in video production.
Veo will give the liberty to the creators to make a six-second video clip for Shorts. They will have the option to generate four custom images by typing in a prompt and then clicking on 'Create'. They will have a choice to add the animation effect to the video. This feature will contribute to the visual appearance of the video by filling the gaps in the video for a seamless delivery.
YouTube further announced that it will integrate Veo into Dream Screen later this year. Those shorts created with the AI features will be stamped in with a watermark using DeepMindās SynthID tech so that they can be identified as AI-generated.
Other new features of Youtube
Other than Veo, YouTube is also working on other new features, such as the Jewels feature that allows viewers to send digital gifts during the live stream, the addition of a few more languages in the dubbing section, and an addition to a community feature that will allow people to directly interact with their favourite creators.
