Elon Musk announced has that Twitter will soon start to pay content creators for ads in their replies. The first payment block will be around $5 million. "In a few weeks, X/Twitter will start paying creators for ads served in their replies. First block payment totals $5M. Note, the creator must be verified and only ads served to verified users count," Musk announced on the microblogging site.

The social media giant has struggled to retain advertisers ever since billionaire Elon Musk acquired the company. Twitter has been skeptical about the placement of their ads after laying of thousands of employees.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has all eyes on Linda Yaccarino, an advertising veteran who took over Twitter as the CEO. The company's relationship with brands is bound to improve after losing business following Musk's takeover.

In March, Musk said that the platform could raise the attention span of it's audience and thereby raise 15 cents or more per attention from users with advertisements that are more relevant and timely.
