Instagram recently added new features to its direct messaging (DM) system. Now, users can schedule messages to be sent later, translate messages into different languages during chats, and share music without leaving the chat window. Plus, you can pin important chats to the top of your inbox, which was previously only possible for three chats.
Instagram also introduced a translation feature that lets users translate messagessent by others into their preferred language directly in the chat. This feature supports 99 languages. Instagram also mentioned that Meta will be notified if users choose to translate a message.
The app has added even morenew features to make messaging easier. Now, users can schedule messages to be sent later, just like the iPhone’s iOS 18 update. You can also set reminders by holding down the send button, picking the time and date, and then hit ‘Send’.
It now makes it easier to find and save important chats. Besides pinning up to three chat threads, you can now pin individual messages. Just hold down on a message and select "Pin."
Apart from this, you can now send your friends a 30-second preview of any song while chatting without leaving the chat window. This works for both group and one-on-one chats. To share music, open the sticker tray, tap "Music," search for a song, and then send the 30-second preview.
Lastly, group chats on Instagram can now share custom QR codes. Users can create a unique QR code for a group chat and share it with others. Anyone can scan the code to join the conversation, making it easier than adding people one by one.
