Tesla CEO Elon Musk has recently made an exciting announcement about the launch of xAI, a new startup focused on artificial intelligence (AI). Comprising a team of experienced engineers from esteemed companies like OpenAI and Google, xAI aims to delve deeper into understanding reality, as stated by Musk himself.

Specific details regarding funding, objectives, and AI focus are yet to be disclosed, the company's website indicates its mission to comprehend the true essence of the universe. To shed more light on their goals, xAI has planned a Twitter Spaces chat scheduled for July 14th.

Elon Musk, a former supporter of OpenAI, the organization behind the widely known language model ChatGPT, has grown disillusioned with the company. His criticism primarily stems from his perception of ChatGPT's alleged liberal bias. Back in February, Musk expressed his desire for a model like "TruthGPT" and raised concerns about ChatGPT's operations and close association with Microsoft.

In his ongoing quest for AI safety, Musk signed an open letter in March calling for a pause in "Giant AI Experiments," which has garnered significant support with around 33,000 signatures to date. In an April interview with the BBC, he revealed his longstanding concerns about AI safety spanning over a decade. Musk strongly advocates for the establishment of a regulatory body responsible for overseeing AI and ensuring public safety.

During a recent Twitter Spaces event, Elon Musk revealed his strategy for creating safer AI. Instead of relying on explicit programming, his startup xAI aims to develop a highly curious AI that deeply understands the universe. Musk believes this approach will naturally lead to AI prioritizing actions that benefit humanity, as he considers human life to be of utmost importance. He emphasized the need for urgency, predicting that superintelligence could emerge within the next five to six years, highlighting the necessity for responsible and beneficial AI development.
