On Monday, Apple unveiled its latest iPhone 16 series at the company's 'It's Glowtime' event'. The four new iPhone models, iPhone 16, Plus, Pro, and Pro Max, have been advertised as being designed from the bottom up to do Apple Intelligence activities. Soon after announcing the new iPhone series, Apple, as it does every year, discontinued several older versions. The Cupertino-based tech behemoth also announced a significant price reduction on several older models.

iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max were the two most striking items displaced from Apple's portfolio following the debut of the new iPhone. Notably, these are the only two handsets that can currently support Apple Intelligence, and their removal from the Apple portfolio means that consumers will have to purchase the new iPhone-16 series to gain access to the company's most recent AI technologies.

Another smartphone that was taken from the stores was the iPhone 13, which debuted in 2021. The iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 15, and iPhone 15 Plus have all received a ₹10,000 price reduction from their current listing price on Apple's website.

iPhone 16 Series Pricing

iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus have the same starting price of ₹79,900 and ₹89,900 as last year, although featuring a more powerful CPU. The iPhone 16's 256GB version costs ₹89,900, while the 512GB version costs ₹1,09,900. The iPhone-16 Plus is priced at ₹99,900 for 256GB and ₹1,19,900 for 512GB.

The iPhone 16 Pro 256GB storage variant starts at ₹1,29,900, while the 512GB and 1TB variants cost ₹1,49,900 and ₹1,69,900, respectively. The iPhone 16 Pro Max costs ₹1,64,900 for 512GB storage and ₹1,84,900 for 1TB.

Apple will continue to release new iOS updates for these iPhones for many years, and users will also be able to use the company's AI features. And, as they say, the best time to buy an older iPhone is when the new one is released, which is true even in this situation, as prices will drop dramatically, allowing businesses to clear out stock and push the new iPhone 16 models to customers.

The company's older AirPods versions have also come to an end with the release of the new AirPods 4, with the selection now including only the AirPods 4 models and the AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods Max in new colour options.
