Yuvraj Singh biopic has become the latest addition to Bollywood's trend of featuring the life stories of athletes. This approach allows filmmakers to tap into strong storylines and the large fan base associated with the athlete. Indian cinema has already given us many successful biopics of famous sportspersons like Mary Kom, M S Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar, and Milkha Singh, all of which have been blockbusters on the big screen. Now, T-series has announced the much-anticipated Yuvraj Singh biopic through their social media handles, which will highlight his journey both on and off the field.

According to some tweets, the tentative title of the film is 'Six Sixes', tributing to his historical inning against England in the 2007 T20 World Cup, where he bashed six sixes in a single over of Stuart Broad. Along with this, the biopic will feature his sensational spree in the 2011 one-day World Cup where he was recognized as the player of the tournament for his exceptional performance with bat and ball.

Following the 2011 World Cup, he was diagnosed with cancer and was India's hero in the World Cup victory played with a tumour in his chest throughout the tournament, giving all his blood and sweat. He recovered and made his comeback in the field the very next year in 2012, showing his dedication to the game. Since then, the fans kept on demanding a biopic for their hero, and now in 2024, it is finally announced.

Announcing the Biopic, T-series wrote on X, "Relive the legend's journey from the pitch to the heart of millions — Yuvraj Singh's story of grit and glory is coming soon on the big screen!" Producer Ravi Ravi Bhagchandka backed by T-Series head Bhushan Kumar, will bring Yuvi's story to the big screen. In 2017, Ravi produced a documentary on Sachin Tendulkar's life.

The Test of My Life: From Cricket to Cancer and Back

In 2013, Yuvraj published an autobiography titled 'The Test of My Life: From Cricket to Cancer and Back.' The book gave an insight into his life both on and off the field. He mentioned his cricketing journey, his fight with cancer and his comeback to the cricketing pitch. The book became a national bestseller and inspired many readers. It is still regarded as one of the best books for inspiring and motivating individuals.

According to a report by Variety, The biopic will feature his life on and off the field. All his cricketing achievements along with his sufferings will be shown in the movie to motivate the young generation. Yuvraj, who hung his boots in 2019, played some very good innings both pre and post-cancer. In 2017, he marked his strong comeback by rescuing India against England with an exceptional inning, scoring 150 runs and rescuing the team from a bad position.

On the announcement of his biopic, Yuvraj told Variety, "I am deeply honored that my story will be showcased to millions of my fans across the globe by Bhushan-ji and Ravi. Cricket has been my greatest love and source of strength through all the highs and lows. I hope this film inspires others to overcome their own challenges and pursue their dreams with unwavering passion."
