14-year-old breaks 100-meter age group world record, Revives memories of Usain Bolt

14-year-old broke the previous record established by Jamaican sprinter Sachin Dennis by running the 100 meters at Lee Valley Athletics Centre in an incredible 10.30 seconds.

Divine Iheme, a British athlete of Nigerian descent, has amazed everyone with his incredible pace on the track and appears prepared for the big stage. Fans have been chanting Iheme’s name for quite a while when the 14-year-old broke the previous record of 10.51 seconds established by Jamaican sprinter Sachin Dennis by running the 100 meters at Lee Valley Athletics Centre in an incredible 10.30 seconds. Iheme ran the 100m in 11.3 seconds just two years ago, when he was 12 years old. The adolescent broke the “world record” for that age group with a time of 10.30 seconds, showcasing tremendous growth.

The record of Usain Bolt, who completed a 100-meter sprint in 9.58 seconds, may be under peril if Iheme keeps improving at the same rate. Not all teenagers are as successful as Iheme in the 100-meter sprint.

Gout’s impressive sprint

The athletics world was recently taken aback by 16-year-old Gout Gout from Australia.
After finishing a 100-meter event in an impressive 10.29 seconds at the Queensland Athletics Championships in March, he went viral. The two might continue to battle it out for the top podium slot for many years to come, forming a duopoly like to the one that legendary football players Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo enjoyed for almost twenty years.

Similar to Iheme, Gout drew comparisons to Usain Bolt following his display of lightning-fast pace on the track.

Beyond Usain Bolt: Gout’s Inspiration from Other Track Stars

“It’s pretty cool because Usain Bolt is arguably the greatest athlete of all time and just being compared to him is a great feeling,” Gout said to news.com.au in April. “I’m trying to establish a reputation for myself because, well, I’m Gout Gout. Reaching his level would be a tremendous accomplishment if I could.”

Gout previously stated that he looks up to Erriyon Knighton and Noah Lyles, the Olympic gold medallist in the 100 meters. “I like Erriyon Knighton because he is a youngster competing up against the best, and Noah Lyles because he is running crazy times,” Gout had stated.
