India will commence its Paris Olympics 2024 journey on July 25, featuring 117 athletes competing in 69 medal events across 16 sports. The Indian contingent includes a 29-member athletics team led by javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra and a 21-member shooting team, the largest in India's Olympic history.

The archery team, including stars like Deepika Kumari and Tarundeep Rai, will be the first to compete. They will participate in the individual ranking rounds on July 25, one day before the official opening ceremony.

India's first medal opportunity will be on July 27, with the mixed team air rifle medal matches at the National Shooting Centre in Chateauroux. Teams comprising Sandeep Singh/Elavenil Valarivan and Arjun Babuta/Ramita Jindal compete in this event. Manu Bhaker will participate in two individual pistol events and the 10m air pistol mixed team competition.

Neeraj Chopra, the reigning Olympic and World champion in javelin throw, will compete in August. The men's javelin throw qualifiers are on August 6, with the final two days later.

In badminton, two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu aims for a third medal, with events scheduled from July 27 to August 5. Tokyo 2020 silver medalist weightlifter Mirabai Chanu will compete in the women's 49kg category on August 7. Boxer Lovlina Borgohain, a bronze medalist at Tokyo, will compete from July 27 to August 10, alongside two-time world champion Nikhat Zareen, who makes her Olympic debut.

The 16 sports India will compete in are archery, athletics, badminton, boxing, equestrian, golf, hockey, judo, rowing, sailing, shooting, swimming, table tennis, and tennis.

The Paris Olympics will conclude on August 11. India aims to surpass its seven-medal tally from the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, which included one gold, two silver, and four bronze medals.
