On Monday, Indian cricketer Jasprit Bumrah gave birth to a son. He confirmed the news on the microblogging service X (previously Twitter), giving the name of the newest member of his family.

The 29 year-old cricketer took to X, “Our little family has grown & our hearts are fuller than we could ever imagine! This morning we welcomed our little boy, Angad Jasprit Bumrah into the world. We are over the moon and can’t wait for everything this new chapter of our lives brings with it (heart emoji) - Jasprit and Sanjana.”

Reports claimed that Bumrah had departed for Mumbai to give birth to his first kid on September 4. In the Asia Cup on Saturday, record-breaking winners India continued their storied rivalry with Pakistan. Pacer Bumrah had a brief appearance against Babar Azam's Pakistan, scoring 16 off 14 balls in the rain-soaked match at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium. According to the latest developments, Team India will be without pace ace Jasprit Bumrah for their second game in the Asia Cup. Due to personal issues, the Indian fast bowler has gone home. He will miss India Vs. Nepal match.

A BCCI official said that the fast bowler has no injury worries as he returned home for "personal reasons" and would rejoin the squad for the Super 4 stage.

“Yes, Bumrah is heading to Mumbai for personal reasons. It is not an injury concern or anything else and he will rejoin the squad for the Super 4 stage of the tournament,” the official told news sources.

Bumrah did not bowl in the first game against Pakistan since there was no play possible due to rain following India's batting. After a lengthy injury layoff, the 29-year-old returned for the three T20Is against Ireland. He was given the task of leading the squad on the trip, and he delivered some excellent performances with the ball.

The speedster attended Team India's Asia Cup preparation camp in Alur, where he took part in many match-simulation exercises and skill-based sessions.

Captain Rohit Sharma mentioned having Bumrah back with the team ahead of the Pakistan match.

“Playing after a long time it was good to see Jasprit Bumrah back on the ground. He is an important part of our team. It felt good he and Prasidh Krishna played two matches on the Ireland tour and bowled well there which is a good sign for us. They worked hard in the NCA during the rehabilitation period," Rohit had said.
