Wedding arranged by both families
According to Bhim Chopra, the wedding was arranged by both families. He confirmed the ceremony took place on January 16 in Himachal Pradesh and that both families were in attendance. Bhim added, “It’s a new journey for Neeraj and Himani. We cannot share details of the ceremony since Neeraj and Himani’s families want it to be that way.”
The couple had decided to keep their wedding private, with even some of Neeraj's fellow athletes finding out about it through his social media. Bhim also mentioned that Neeraj and Himani are currently out of the country.
Neeraj Chopra’s thoughts on privacy
Neeraj had previously hinted at keeping his personal life private when discussing his future marriage plans. In a recent interview with Lallantop News, he said, “Personal life is such a thing that it depends on an individual how much he wants to show the world.” He further said, “Shadi bhi honi ho toh zaroori thodi na hai ki sabhi ko batake honi hai (It’s not necessary to announce the marriage to the whole world). Whenever it has to happen, the family will decide. That’s when it’ll happen.”
Himani Mor—A Tennis Star and Educator
So, who is Himani Mor? Neeraj’s wife, 25-year-old Himani, is a tennis player from Sonipat, Haryana. She grew up in Sonipat and studied at Little Angels School. Himani played at the national level and earned a reputation in India’s tennis scene. According to the All India Tennis Association, her highest career ranking was 42 in singles and 27 in doubles.
Himani studied political science and physical education for her bachelor’s degree at Miranda House in Delhi. After that, she went to Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire, USA, to do a master’s degree in sports management. Along with her studies, she also works as an assistant coach for the women’s tennis team at the same university. In her role, she is responsible for things like training, scheduling, recruiting players, and managing the team’s budget.

For Neeraj Chopra, the wedding comes at the start of an important phase in his life. After a busy and challenging 2024, where he won his second Olympic medal despite struggling with a long-standing injury, Neeraj is focused on the new season. Currently training in South Africa under his new coach, the world record holder Jan Zelezny, Neeraj has his sights set on the 2025 World Championships as a key target for his career.
The off-season provided Neeraj with some rest before the intense training ahead for the upcoming events. His marriage to Himani marks an exciting new chapter in both of their lives, with the couple’s future plans intertwined with their careers.
