Indian cricketer and 2025 Asia Cup winner Rinku Singh has received threats from the underworld, Mumbai Police confirmed. Investigations revealed that D-Company, led by gangster and terrorist Dawood Ibrahim, sent three ransom demands to Rinku’s promotional team between February and April this year, asking for INR 5 crore.

The police investigated the case and made progress by arresting two suspects, Mohammed Dilshad and Mohammed Naveed, from the Caribbean. They were handed over to Indian authorities on August 1. Reports suggest that the same suspects had earlier demanded a ransom of INR 10 crore from Zeeshan Siddiqui, son of the late former MLA Baba Siddiqui. During interrogation, one of the suspects admitted to calling Rinku and demanding ransom.
