The temporary but historic Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in Eisenhower Park, Long Island, New York, will be demolished on Friday, June 14, following eight exhilarating matches of the 2017 T20 World Cup. Bulldozers were seen positioned outside the stadium in a widely shared video, ready to destroy the temporary building. The stadium’s modular parts will be taken apart and reused, guaranteeing cricket enthusiasts and local cricket clubs access to the best turf and facilities around. This action seeks to increase the sport’s appeal in the area and offer a venue for the growth of regional talent.

The drop-in pitches at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 have drawn criticism.
