In a move to 'boycott' Chinese, under pressure BCCI removed China's smartphone company VIVO from IPL's title sponsor and in return opened bidding to other companies for this year's edition of IPL which will be held in September.

Today, Dream 11 was chosenas the highest bidder at Rs. 222 crore and was officially declared as the title sponsors of IPL by outbidding Unacademy (Rs. 210 crores), Tata (Rs. 180 crores) and Byjus (Rs. 125 crores).

Lesser do the people know that in the year 2018, Chinese Gaming and Technology giant Tencent invested $100 Million in Dream 11 and claimed majority stakes in the company. Now, the company is worth over $2 Billion.

This BCCI's shift from one Chinese company's sponsorship (VIVO) to another Chinese owned company (Dream 11) for IPL just to please the viewers is quite hypocritical as people wanted more of a 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' type change.

This just shows that there was not a nationalist move behind BCCI's change and it was juts done under pressure and they were more inclined towards the money provided by the company rather than their 'Patriotism' towards India.
