WhatsApp has introduced a new feature that lets users add music to their Status updates. This is to say that individuals can now share their favorite songs with their photos and videos, making their updates lively and expressive.

WhatsApp explains:

“When creating a Status, you’ll now see a music note icon at the top of your screen. Tap it, and you’ll unlock a library of songs to pick from - whether it’s today’s top hits, something new, or the earworm that’s stuck in your head. Choose the exact part of the song that fits your moment - up to 15 seconds for a photo and up to 60 seconds for a video.”

This aspect enables people to surf a vast library of songs and select a particular section of a track that is most appropriate for their update.

For the last few months, WhatsApp has been in the process of incorporating music features. Some technology experts had already found this out in WhatsApp's code prior to the official announcement. Now, the app has gone official, and users will soon receive access to a variety of songs.

Meta, WhatsApp's parent company, has been augmenting more music tools across its platforms. Instagram, for instance, has added features such as:

  • Songs in profiles
  • Music stickers in "Add Yours" stories
  • Music in notes
  • Song lyrics in reels
  • A music-sharing sticker in DMs

These changes assist in boosting engagement, particularly since TikTok is still uncertain in the U.S. By introducing music choices to WhatsApp, Meta is ensuring that it remains competitive and keeps users active with its apps.

WhatsApp indicates that this new music feature will be available to users within the next few weeks.

So, if you don't have it yet, you may gain access to it soon!
