Imprisoned conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar, who has been involved in several cases of fraud, has made the news again—this time by contacting billionaire Elon Musk. In a letter, Chandrashekhar indicated his willingness to invest a whopping $2 billion in X, which was previously Twitter.
As per a report by Hindustan Times, Chandrashekhar's letter reads: “I am taking this Privilege and Pride today to say, Hey Elon, I am ready and wanting to invest ‘1 Billion USD’ immediately and another ‘1 Billion USD’ next year in your Company X, making a total ‘2 Billion USD’ as investment.” He added that the move would make him a “proud Indian.”
Chandrashekhar showered praise on Musk, addressing him as "my man" and terming him as "solid, Tankman, Bulletproof." He also made the claim that Musk was heading the United States Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) during the Trump administration—a claim that is not based on facts.
The conman also addressed the U.S. President Donald Trump as his "big brother."
Why does Chandrashekhar want to invest?
In contrast to the conventional investors who assess company worth, Chandrashekhar asserted that his choice was solely due to his trust in Musk's leadership.
“The investment of the above-mentioned amount is not under any valuation of X, but it’s an investment on what remarkable turn of fortune the company is going to achieve under your leadership, so the Bet is always on you, and surely know ‘X’ value is going to rise to unexpectable heights,” he wrote.
This is not the first time Chandrashekhar has written letters from jail. His previous addresses include former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez, and Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu.
Earlier this month, he also reached out to OpenAI CEO Sam Altman with a similar investment proposal, offering $1 billion immediately and an additional $2 billion over the next five years to support OpenAI’s operations in India.
