A bodybuilder has been widely slammed on social media after a video of him performing push-ups on a moving airplane engine went viral. The clip, filmed last year, was recently shared online by 23-year-old Preslie Ginoski. It quickly gained millions of views on TikTokbefore the platform took it down for "violating community guidelines," according to The Sun.

The video showed Ginoski climbing onto the engine of a parked aircraft and then doing push-ups and flexing his muscles. While many were shocked at the apparent danger, Ginoski later defended himself, saying that the stunt was not as risky as it seemed.

“I just wanted people to get a laugh about it,” he told Daily Mail. “Like it’s (as if) I’ve just got off the plane and I’m going to work out.”

He explained further that the plane was not in operation and was set to move only the following day. He further argued that the engine's rotation as seen in the video was because of strong winds and not the actual running of the plane.

Despite his explanations, social media users were quick to criticize the stunt. One user commented, "Stupid move, it wouldn't take much for that engine to turn him into mince meat."

Another sarcastically wrote, "Oh wow, what could possibly go wrong?" A third person remarked, "Wonder why more people are dying young? Moronic decisions like these."

Other people vented frustration for the attention-seeking stunt, saying, "Man, people really are addicted to attention."

How did the airport authorities react

Ginoski, who recorded the video when working at an airport, has since resigned. Now, an official of the Australian airport where the stunt happened issued a strong statement after the controversy.

“Sydney Airport has zero tolerance for unsafe behavior on the airfield, and we take all reports of potential safety breaches extremely seriously,” the spokesperson said, as reported by news.com.au.
