The Bharatiya Janata Party, anticipating a third consecutive victory in the Lok Sabha 2024, is planning a significant political event for the weekend, according to The Indian Express.

Exit polls have consistently forecasted a decisive majority for the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the general elections, securing most of the Lok Sabha seats.

The BJP's celebratory event is expected to be held at either Bharat Mandapam or Kartavya Path on the same day as the official swearing-in ceremony.

Themed to highlight India's cultural heritage, the event may feature a sound and light show and is projected to draw 8,000-10,000 attendees, including foreign government representatives.

A senior government official told The Indian Express that the event could take place on June 9, though it has not been finalized yet.

Meanwhile, the President’s Secretariat issued a tender on May 28 for “supplying decorative indoor and ornamental plants for the swearing-in ceremony of the Prime Minister and other ministers at Rashtrapati Bhavan."

The tender, valued at ₹21.97 lakh, will be opened on June 3, giving the contractor five days to fulfill the order.

Preparations for the swearing-in ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan began last week, according to The Indian Express.
