In response to the reported attack on party member and Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's Delhi home, the Aam Aadmi Party responded on Tuesday. AAP MP Sanjay Singh acknowledged that during Maliwal's Monday visit to meet with Kejriwal at his home, Kejriwal's assistant, Bibhav Kumar, mistreated her.

Sanjay Singh said that when Bibhav Kumar arrived in the drawing room, Maliwal was already there and mistreated her. Additionally, he declared that Kejriwal would take strong measures after acknowledging the issue involving Swati Maliwal.

The subject of the issue, Bibhav Kumar, is thought to be close to Arvind Kejriwal.

Bibhav Kumar became acquainted with Arvind Kejriwal during his days of 'India Against Corruption'. In 2011, Bibhav worked as a video journalist, editing videos for a magazine called "India Against Corruption."

Their bond became closer over time. Bibhav Kumar reportedly chooses Kejriwal's daily schedule and is regarded as his "right-hand man."

In 2015, Bibhav Kumar became Arvind Kejriwal's personal secretary (PS). He was once more nominated to this position following the formation of the Aam Aadmi Party's second cabinet in 2020.

His appointment as Kejriwal's personal secretary was terminated by the Vigilance Department last month.

A criminal prosecution brought in 2007 by a man named Mahesh Pal, a worker for the Noida Development Authority, accusing Kumar of insulting and threatening him resulted in Kumar's removal. Kumar was fired by the Vigilance Department, citing a lack of investigation before his employment in the criminal case filed against him.

He had also been questioned by the Enforcement Directorate on 8 April in relation to the Delhi liquor policy issue. In accordance with the Money Laundering Act, his statement was recorded.

The Public Works Department (PWD) was directed by the Vigilance Department to revoke Kumar's Type-6 bungalow allocation last year. It was alleged that he was given this bungalow outside the norms.

This home, located in Delhi's Civil Lines neighborhood, was given to Bibhav Kumar in March 2021.

The bungalow allotment was cancelled by a notification issued by the PWD six months prior. He did not, however, leave the bungalow.

PWD had requested that he leave the bungalow within a month following his dismissal by the Vigilance Department last month.
