On Tuesday (February 4, 2025), Delhi Police filed a case against Atishi, the AAP candidate from Kalkaji, for allegedly breaking the rules of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) and stopping police officers from doing their jobs. The police said they took action after seeing Atishi with 50-70 supporters and 10 vehicles at Fateh Singh Marg. The police asked them to leave the area because of the MCC rules, but the group reportedly stopped a police officer from carrying out his duties.

A police officer stated, “We have registered an FIR against Kalkaji AAP candidate at the Govindpuri Police Station under various sections, and further investigation is under process.”

The police report mentions that the incident took place at 12:30 am on February 4, 2025, when Atishi and her supporters were found at Fateh Singh Marg. Due to the violation of MCC guidelines, the police instructed the group to leave the area, but they did not comply. As a result, the police registered a case under sections 223 BNS & 126 RP Act at Govindpuri Police Station.

In response, Atishi criticised the Election Commission on X (formerly Twitter), claiming that BJP candidate Ramesh Bidhuri and his family were openly violating the code of conduct, but no action was taken against them. She said, “Ramesh Bidhuriji’s family members are openly violating the code of conduct. No action is being taken against them. I filed a complaint and called the police and @ECISVEEP, and they filed a case against me!”

Delhi Assembly elections will take place tomorrow, February 5, and voters must be ready to cast their votes. To ensure smooth voting, 13,033 polling stations have been set up across 2,697 locations in the city. The results will be announced on February 8.
