Prime Minister Narendra Modi claimed on Saturday that the Congress-led INDIA group is considering a "one year, one PM" formula after coming to power, implying that the country will have five prime ministers in five years, a jab at the Opposition's apparent lack of unity on its PM face.
Addressing a campaign event in Kolhapur, western Maharashtra, PM Modi also stated that the opposition coalition does not even reach a three-digit figure or is "on the verge of forming a government."
"They are thinking of (implementing) 'one year, one PM' formula. If they get an opportunity to remain in power for five years, there will be five prime ministers. But the country won't tolerate such people who are dreaming of imposing five prime ministers in five years." he said.
PM Modi stated that the Congress intended to rotate the job of chief minister in Karnataka by passing it over to the deputy CM every 2.5 years, and that a similar arrangement was planned for Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan. "They are playing this game there," he said.
He claimed that the Congress intends to amend the Constitution and deprive Dalits and OBCs of quota privileges for religion-based reservation.
PM Modi further accused the Congress of wanting to replicate the "Karnataka model, in which Muslims were inducted into the 27% quota for OBCs," across the country.
"The Congress-led alliance has vowed to murder social justice," he warned, accusing Congress of resorting to appeasement and vote bank politics.
PM Modi asserted that the Congress and its allies changed their strategy and shifted to "anti-national agenda" and "appeasement" tactics "after realising that they cannot compete with the NDA on its development record".
"Before the elections, I claimed it was 'Viksit Bharat ke sankalp ka chunav'. However, when the Congress and its alliance partners realized they couldn't compete with the NDA on development track record, they changed their strategy and switched to anti-national agenda and appeasement methods," he stated.
The opposition is talking about repealing the CAA and restoring Article 370, but no one has the fortitude to overturn Modi's decision, he said.
The ruling Mahayuti alliance, which includes the BJP, the Shiv Sena led by Eknath Shinde, and the NCP led by Ajit Pawar, has fielded Sanjay Mandlik and Dhairyasheel Mane from the Kolhapur and Hatkanangale constituencies, respectively.
Using the football analogy, PM Modi stated that the National Democratic Alliance is leading 2-0 in the first two phases of the elections.
"Kolhapur is a popular football hub in Maharashtra, and football is immensely popular among the youth here. So, if I may explain in football terms, after yesterday's second phase polling, BJP and NDA are ahead by 2.0 goals," he said.
PM Modi further said the Congress and the INDI alliance have scored two "self-goals" through their anti-India policies and politics of hate.
"The football carrier's responsibility lies with the people of Kolhapur who will hit such a goal that the INDI alliance will be vanquished in the coming rounds of elections," he said.
PM Modi stated that these people (read: the Opposition bloc) are expressing their rage on the nation.
He claimed that Congress and INDI coalition leaders in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu are discussing the dissolution of South India to form a new country.
“Will the people from the land of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, who brought land from Peshawar in the north to Thanjavur in the south under Hindvi Swarajya, allow this scheme? They (INDI alliance) should get a befitting reply," he added.
PM Modi stated that the Congress had not only opposed the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, but also denied the invitation to its consecration.
"The Congress has stooped so low. The trustees of Ram Temple in Ayodhya are good people. They decided to forgive the past sins of Congress and handed invitations to Congress leaders by visiting their homes. But they declined the invitation. Will anyone ever decline the invitation to go to Lord Ram's darbar?" he asked.
PM Modi stated that Iqbal Ansari, a former plaintiff in the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid title suit, also attended the consecration ceremony, despite Congress declining the invitation.
Targeting Rahul Gandhi on wealth distribution, PM Modi said, "The Congress shehzade wants to search your wealth and distribute it to those whom the party has stated have the first right to the country's resources."
"The Congress intended to implement an inheritance tax and deprive people of their inheritance. Such people should have no possibility of gaining power. Congress can go to any length to placate the public," he said.
In a veiled dig at Uddhav Thackeray, the prime minister stated that the "nakli" (duplicate) Shiv Sena is backing with such people and has allied with those who admire Aurangzeb.
“By seeing this, what Balasaheb Thackeray would have thought had he been alive. He would have been saddened by seeing all these things," PM Modi said.
He claimed that the Congress-led bloc has only one goal in mind:'sarkar banao, note kamao'.
