Uttar Pradesh Minister and BJP leader Sanjay Singh Gangwar made an unusual claim, saying that serious health problems like cancer and high blood pressure can get better by spending time with cows. At an event in Pilibhit district, he said that cleaning cowsheds and petting cows could lower the need for medicine and might even help with diseases like cancer.

Gangwar made these comments while inaugurating the Kanha Gaushala, a new cow shelter built for ₹55 lakh in Nougawa Pakadiya, Pilibhit. He encouraged people to spend more time with cows and celebrate important events, like anniversaries and birthdays, at cow shelters to show support for the cause.

Petting cows can reduce blood pressure

In his speech, Sanjay Singh Gangwar said that petting cows could help lower high blood pressure. He suggested that if someone with high blood pressure pets a cow’s back every morning and evening, they could reduce their medicine dose in just 10 days.

"Blood pressure could be cured by petting the back of the cow. If someone was taking a 20-mg dose of blood pressure medicine, it would come down to 10 mg in just 10 days. This is a tested formula," the minister said.

He also talked about the benefits of other cow-related activities, like burning cow dung cakes to keep mosquitoes away and using cow products for different health benefits.

Cancer can be cured by cleaning cowsheds

The minister made another unusual claim, saying that cancer patients could get better by cleaning cowsheds and lying in them. He said, "If a cancer patient cleans a cowshed and lies there, the disease can be cured." He stressed how important cow-related activities are and said they have health benefits.

The minister also encouraged the Muslim community to take part in cow-related activities during their festivals. He suggested that for Eid, Muslims should use cow’s milk to make vermicelli, a traditional dish.

The newly inaugurated Gaushala will provide shelter, food, and medical care for stray and needy cows. Gangwar encouraged people to donate to gaushalas and spend more time around cows, particularly during their special family occasions.

Previous statements on cow-related practices

This is not the first time that unusual claims related to cows have been made by BJP members. Earlier this month, a BJP leader from Indore suggested that people should sip gamut before entering garba pandals during the Navratri festival. He called this practice, known as aachman, an important part of Sanatan culture.

These statements have caused reactions, with some political leaders, including those from Congress, criticizing the comments as attempts to create divisions. Despite the debate, Gangwar's words show that certain parts of the BJP continue to focus on cow protection and traditional practices.
