The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) has taken a swipe at the Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and claimed that he was playing a mobile game, Candy Crush during an important party meeting regarding selection of candidates for the upcoming state assembly elections.
Sharing a photo on the 10th of October, BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya said that Bhupesh Baghel looked very relaxed and thought that it was appropriate to play a mobile game (Candy Crush) during a party meeting as he knew that no matter how much he fights, he will not be able to form the government this time.
“Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel is also relaxed, he knows that no matter how much he fights, the government will not come. Perhaps that is why instead of paying attention to the meeting related to Congress candidate selection, he thought it appropriate to play CANDY CRUSH?,” tweeted BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya.
This incidence comes in light as the Congress party is looking to retain its power in Chhattisgarh by relying on the welfare schemes of the Bhupesh Baghel government. Meanwhile, the BJP is looking forward to criticise the government for its corruption and its unmet electoral promises.
Congress’ Chhattisgarh in-charge Kumari Selja said on Tuesday (10th October) that the party’s central election committee will meet on the 12th October to decide on the candidate’s list. Speaking to media personnel, Kumari Selja said, "...On 12th October, a meeting of our Central Election Committee (CEC) will be held... The final decision is taken by the CEC... When they put their final stamp, the final list of candidates will come out."
Notably, the BJP has till date released two lists of candidates for the state assembly elections, taking their total number of named candidates to 85 out of the possible 90 in the house.
