The BJP has announced new welfare plans to match the AAP's promises before the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections on February 5. BJP President JP Nadda released the party's 'Sankalp Patra,' which is a list of promises. It includes financial support for women, healthcare benefits, and other plans.
The BJP has pledged to give Rs 21,000 to pregnant women and Rs 2,500 per month to female voters in Delhi. Additionally, the party will provide a Rs 500 subsidy on LPG cylinders. The manifesto also promises free LPG cylinders for the poor during Holi and Diwali celebrations.
Healthcare under the Ayushman Bharat scheme
Nadda also announced the addition of a Rs 5 lakh health coverage under the Ayushman Bharat scheme. This is a nationwide insurance program that already offers Rs 5 lakh per family annually. “The BJP will enforce the centre's flagship Ayushman Bharat health scheme in its first Cabinet meeting. The AAP has been opposing the scheme in Delhi,” Nadda stated.
While announcing new policies, Nadda also reassured voters that all current welfare schemes, such as free electricity up to 200 units and free bus rides for women, would remain in place if the BJP won the elections. “All the schemes that are running in Delhi will continue under the BJP. We will eliminate any scope of corruption on which the ‘AAPda’ party thrives,” Nadda added.
