"Despite doing so much for the people in North Bengal, we have not won a single seat from North Bengal. Why? How come BJP, who came from outside, won all the seats? What was our fault in the last 10 years? The RSS and BJP are trying to take control over Bengal for their vested interest. They are not the real Hindus. They are not Ramakrishna or Vivekananda as they only spread hatred," said Banerjee while addressing a public rally in Jalpaiguri district.
Mamata Banerjee has now taken to issuing verdicts on who is a real Hindu and who is not, in a desperate move to somehow salvage whatever little is left of her political career. North Bengal has in recent times become a nightmare for the TMC.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, the party failed to win a single seat in the region, which is why Mamata Banerjee has begun explaining to the constituents of the region that the BJP and RSS are not a party/organisation of real Hindus, and are instead comprised of ‘outsiders’.
Speaking on the attack on BJP president JP Nadda's convoy recently, she asked, "Why there were so many cars accompanying his convoy? Why were convicted criminals accompanying him?”
Today, CRPF summoned the West Bengal Police ahead of Home Minister Amit Shah's visit to the state and Mamata Banerjee refused to sent the police officials to the central duty for their negligence of attack on JP Nadda.
She even went to the extent of daring BJP to invoke President's rule in the state if they can but she can't be forced to act according to them.
It is clear that Mamata Banerjee has become very stubborn fearing her continous losses in the sate and eve if it might lead to her victory, she won't get a house majority which again becomes difficult as Amit Shah is known to attract opposition leaders to his party.
Mamata is pushing hard to maintain a streak but considering the saffron wave in eastern India, BJP might be the underdog and claim more seats than expected and JD(U) also announced that they'll be fighting over 75 seats in state elections under NDA.
