West Bengal cm Mamata Banerjee launched a verbal attack on PM Modi, criticising him for falling short of getting the majority seats. She said that Indian people had lost faith in his leadership, and because of it, the BJP fell short of getting the majority seats.

She demanded the PM's resignation on moral grounds, saying he failed to get 400 seats as promised and now he had lost his credibility.

"I am happy that the Prime Minister did not get the majority figure. The prime minister has lost credibility. He should resign immediately because he had said that this time they would cross 400 seats," Bengal CM said in a press conference in Kolkata.

“Modi has broken many parties and now the people have shattered his morale. Modi should resign on moral grounds along with Union Home Minister Amit Shah,” she added.

Mocking the BJP over the defeat in Ayodhya Banerjee said, "Even after causing so many atrocities, spending so much money, this arrogance of Modi ji and Amit Shah, the INDIA bloc has won and Modi has lost. They have even lost in Ayodhya," the Trinamool Congress supremo said.

She showed her belief in the INDIA alliance saying, “I will surely help the INDIA alliance, had discussions with some people. I will try that Modi is out and INDIA is in center. INDIA has got enough votes and it has the capacity.”

Responding to the accusations of TMC leader, Amit Malviya, BJP’s IT cell chief, said, “Mamata Banerjee had lost her election in Nandigram to BJP’s Suvendu Adhikari. Yet, she continued as the Chief Minister of Bengal. She should be the last person to pontificate on ‘credibility’.”

while talking about her state she said, “West Bengal was the most tormented state. Atrocities were the worst on West Bengal. On the one hand, there was the CBI, ED, and IT. And a section of the media also worked against us.”

"I want the Centre to clear the dues of every state and restart the central schemes they halted. They should stop using central agencies and manipulating the judiciary. If they don't, there will be a huge movement," she demanded.

Further, she accused the media of being biased towards Modi she claimed that all the surveys conducted were fake And "Bogus", she claimed that " a BJP gaddar conducted the polls here."

Some political experts claimed that the TMC's schemes such as the Lakshmir Bhandar to provide financial assistance to women, gained them huge support not only in the assembly but also in the Lok Sabha elections. The assistance was increased from ₹500 to ₹1,000 per month just ahead of the polls.

A woman TMC minister said, “The TMC’s main hold is the women for whom the government has floated a series of schemes including financial aid. These schemes include women and girls of all ages starting from a schoolgirl to a senior citizen. There are special schemes for widows.”
