A few months back, on August 23rd, several senior Congress leaders wrote off a letter to Sonia Gandhi calling her undeserving to be the party chief anymore and now after 3 months, again a scuffle has started withing the party.
But this time, the leaders are unsatisfied with Rahul Gandhi as he loses every election he fights and further makes the coalistion party also a loser.
Kapil Sibal in an interview to English daily, The Indian Express earlier this week said, “Some of us put our pen to paper and said what should be done in the Congress on the road ahead. Instead of listening to us, they turned their back on us. The results are for all to see People of the country, not just in Bihar but wherever by-elections were held, obviously don’t consider the Congress to be an effective alternative.”
The oldest political party of the country and it's members are tired of a dynasty ruling them but the Gandhi family is not ready to give up despite knowing the fact that they don't have what it takes to lead the party and win.
The remarks made by Kapil Sibal drew sharp reactions from senior leaders such as Congress’s leader in the Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chawdhury and former Union minister Salman Khurshid.
Now, P Chidambaram has also said "These results show that the party either has no organisational presence on the ground or has been weakened considerably," in a national daily questioning if the party leadership is deserving or not as they are unable to handle the growing losses.
