Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) introduced the mutli-journey QR tickets (MJQRT) on Thursday to simplify travel and improve customer convenience, eliminating the requirement for daily ticket sales. Metro authorities claim that the MJQRT provides passengers with a more convenient and environmentally sustainable alternative to regular smart cards.
Users can now purchase multiple journey tickets via DMRC's Delhi Metro Sarathi (also known as Momentum 2.0) app. According to a DMRC spokesman, passengers will be able to access this app-exclusive feature starting Friday.
To use the MJQRT, customers must first register on the app with a starting balance of Rs 150, which may be utilised for Metro travel. An extra benefit is that the MJQRT does not require a security deposit, and users may quickly recharge the app in multiples of Rs 50 using UPI, credit cards, and debit cards, with a maximum balance limit of Rs 3,000.
Incentives for Users
Additionally, the MJQRT offers passengers various financial incentives. A minimum balance of Rs 60 is required to travel, and customers can receive savings of 10% during peak hours (8 am to 12 pm and 5 pm to 9 pm) and 20% during off-peak hours.
According to officials, security is another important aspect of the MJQRT. According to the DMRC, passengers can continue using the service by logging in on another device in the event that their mobile device is stolen, lost, or damaged. In any case, the balance remains unaffected.
