At least 41 people tragically lost their lives when a terrible fire broke out in a six-story structure in Kuwait's Mangaf area. The structure was destroyed by flames early on Wednesday morning, trapping several people inside. At least 41 individuals perished in the fire, according to the Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister, who also offered his sympathies to the deceased's families.

Early in the morning, the fire reportedly broke out and swiftly spread throughout the building, which was home to a sizable workforce. Dozens of people died from burn injuries and smoke inhalation despite efforts to free those who were trapped.

Four individuals were confirmed dead and around 43 were hospitalized as a result of the incident, according to the Kuwaiti health ministry. It's unclear, though, if these deaths were in addition to the 35 that the police had reported.

The cause of the fire, which is thought to have started in a kitchen on one of the lower floors, is being looked into by the authorities. Because there were glass windows, the fire spread quickly, making it harder for everyone inside to escape.

The structure, which houses about 195 laborers from the adjacent business neighborhood, was home to residents from several states, including Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The NBTC group, founded by KG Abraham, a businessman native Malayali, owns the building, which also houses NBTC's store staff.

Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar expressed the Indian government's sympathies for the catastrophe, which has shocked the whole region. "Deeply saddened by the tragic loss of lives in the fire in Kuwait. Condolences to the families of the victims. May the injured recover soon," he tweeted.
