Kisan Ki Baat: Reviving Indian Agriculture to New Heights

“Farmers often lack information, leading to misuse of pesticides. We must address this," Chouhan stated while underlining the need to quickly bring research and development outcomes to farmer’s lap. ‘Kisan Ki Baat’ is also a part of the endeavor to revive the Indian Agriculture sector to new heights. Chouhan also emphasized the need to fashion and orient Krishi Vigyan Kendras in a way that better complements farmers’ requirements and encourages producers’ dialogue among agricultural practitioners.

The minister made the announcement at an Independence Day event attended by farmers and also took the opportunity to launch the National Pest Surveillance System (NPSS). He said "Our goal is to transform India into a world food basket.”

Chouhan thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for paying attention to farmers saying that previous governments have neglected them to the point that they were not even invited for the Independence Day celebration.
