In the wake of the tragic incident in Hathras stampede, Uttar Pradesh, where 116 people lost their lives during a religious event, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken decisive action. He expressed his commitment to uncovering the truth, regardless of whether the incident was an accident or a conspiracy. “The government's priority is to hold those responsible accountable and provide appropriate punishment,” he stated. As part of this commitment, a judicial probe on Hathras has been initiated to ensure a thorough investigation and bring justice to the victims and their families.
"Doing politics instead of expressing condolences on such an incident is extremely unfortunate and condemnable" He continued, "The government will investigate this matter thoroughly and punish the conspirators and those accountable for this incident appropriately. The government is already sensitive to this matter."
"PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah have expressed deep sorrow and condolences to the bereaved families. The Government of India and the state government have also announced a compensation of ₹ 2 lakh to the family of the deceased and ₹ 50,000 to the families of the seriously injured. The state government will get to the bottom of this entire incident, whether this is an accident or a conspiracy, we will get to the bottom of it,” he added.

A team has been formed to investigate the incident thoroughly. The tragedy occurred after a program organized by local organizers in honor of ‘Bhole Baba.’ When the preacher of the Satsang was descending from the stage, a crowd of devotees surged forward to touch him. Aligarh Commissioner Chaitra V confirmed that 116 people lost their lives, and 18 others were injured. Immediate medical attention is being provided to the injured in the Aligarh district, while initial investigations are underway to understand the sequence of events that led to this tragic stampede.
