The wealthiest Ganesh mandal in the city, GSB Ganesh Seva Mandal in King's Circle, has secured insurance for a record-breaking Rs 400.58 crore for its five-day celebration, which takes place from September 7 to 11. The policy was provided by New India Assurance, the policyholder's normal insurer, even though the mandal withheld the amount of the premium. 66 kilograms of gold jewelry, 325 kg of silver, and other priceless objects adorn the GSB MahaGanpati.

Amit Pai, the chairman of Mandal, presented the breakdown of insurance amounts. "Personal accident coverage for volunteers, cooks, service personnel, valet parking and security staff, and stall workers makes up the largest portion of the Rs 400.58 crore," he stated.

Gold, silver, and jewelry theft are among the many dangers covered by an all-risk policy worth Rs 43.15 crores. An additional Rs 2 crore is allocated for a regular fire and special peril coverage that covers earthquake risk and includes products such as laptops, furniture, fixtures, fittings, groceries, fruits, and vegetables, CCTV cameras, and QR scanners. Public liability coverage for pandals, stadiums, and devotees is set at Rs 30 crore.

Through these five days, 60,000 pujas are offered on average. He stated that annadaan meals, which consist of prasad bhojan served on banana leaves, are consumed by about 20,000 people per day and 1,00,000 people over the course of five days. In the meantime, Lalbaugcha Raja has obtained insurance from New India Assurance for Rs 32.76 crore. In contrast to GSB, which lasts for five days, Lalbaug's celebration lasts for ten days. Mangesh Dalvi, the treasurer, proposed splitting up their policy.

Personal injury insurance for trustees, service people, and mandal workers who have received identity cards from the mandal makes up the major portion of the Rs 12 crore. Another 10 crore is for third-party liability, which includes the prasad's poisoning; the remaining Rs 2.5 crore is for the pandal's setup, assets, and electrical fixtures, including the main gate. A policy worth Rs 8.26 crore has been prepared to safeguard the gold jewels and other items adorning the idol. The two-month period covered by Lalbaugcha Raja's policy is from August 12 to October 11.
