In a recent development in the ongoing investigation into the rape and murder of a doctor in Kolkata, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is set to conduct a polygraph test on Dr. Sandip Ghosh who is the former principal of RG Kar Medical College with four other doctors. The decision to administer the test comes after the CBI finding inconsistencies in their statements during the investigation, prompting the agency to seek the Calcutta High Court's permission for the procedure.

A senior CBI official explained the reasons behind the move, saying, “We will corroborate their statements with the result of the polygraph test to verify their statement given to the agency.” This test is expected to play an important role in knowing the accuracy of the information provided by the individuals under scrutiny
