Bhole Baba’s Kanpur ashram has Kashi Vishwanath like dome with five-star amenities

The ashram’s amenities rival those of a five-star resort with air-conditioned rooms, along with spacious balconies equipped with large coolers and fans to ensure comfort for residents.

Amidst the ongoing investigation into the Hathras stampede, which claimed the lives of 121 people, the opulent lifestyle and property details of the self-proclaimed godman Bhole Baba (also known as Narayan Saakar Hari or Suraj Pal) have come to light. Notably, one of the ashrams associated with Bhole Baba, situated on six bighas of land in Kasui village near Kanpur’s Bidhnu area, has garnered significant attention.

This ashram, approximately 25 kilometers from Kanpur city, boasts imposing gates and three domes inspired by Varanasi’s renowned Kashi Vishwanath temple. The gates feature intricate carvings and distinctive designs. An investigation by India Today revealed that a handful of sevadars (caretakers) reside in the Kanpur ashram and oversee its maintenance.

Outside the ashram, a large portrait of Bhole Baba and his wife, Devi Maa, adorned with flowers, greets visitors. Religious quotes are inscribed near the entrance to attract devotees. Within the ashram premises, an expansive garden cultivates vegetables and flowers, while a cow shed provides shelter for cattle.

Luxurious Amenities at the Ashram

The ashram’s amenities rival those of a five-star resort. Air-conditioned rooms, along with spacious balconies equipped with large coolers and fans, ensure comfort for residents. At the heart of the ashram lies the luxurious ‘Satsang Bhawan,’ where religious congregations take place. The hall features unique wall decorations, and powerful coolers and speakers enhance the ambiance.

According to a sevadar within the ashram, Bhole Baba is not merely a biological entity but an incarnation of God. Devotees have reportedly witnessed miracles associated with him, and the soil he treads upon is considered highly auspicious—capable of curing ailments through mere touch. Tragically, the Hathras stampede occurred as followers rushed to collect the “charan raj,” the soil around Bhole Baba’s feet, during a satsang.

However, opinions in Kasui village diverge. Some villagers view Bhole Baba as a fraud who established the ashram by deceiving people and seizing their land. They question his divine status and demand that he resurrect the innocent lives lost in the Hathras tragedy. Additionally, the ashram’s guards allegedly hinder villagers from grazing their animals, causing further discontent.
