It’s not about age/ caste/ education anymore, its about the mentality of our society, which seems to be ruined.
In the latest incident in the series of grim sex attacks in the country, two boys, aged 10 and 11 years, gang-raped a five-year-old girl in a village in Siwan district of Bihar.
As per reports, the incident took place on Saturday evening last week when the girl and other kids were playing in the area. Around 5:30 pm, the two minor accused took her to the nearby bushes, where they allegedly gang-raped her.
When she returned, she was crying, and there were bloodstains on her clothes. She narrated her ordeal to her mother, following which the police were informed and a case was registered.
According to a report by The Times of India, the older boy is a local resident while the younger boy, a native of neighbouring Uttar Pradesh, was staying with his maternal grandfather in the village.
After the girl’s parents filed the police complaint, the older accused was shifted to some other place by his family members, and the younger accused’s relatives sent him back to his native place in UP.
Furthermore, the male relatives of both accused were also not found in the village when the police went to their respective houses. Following this, directions were issued to female members of the families to produce the minor boys before the police.
Just after this report, another serious report came out from Ghaziabad where a two-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 14-year-old boy with speech impairment. The victim is now undergoing treatment at the GTB Hospital in Delhi.
Police said the boy allegedly raped the girl while he was playing with her on the terrace, according to a report by news agency PTI.
The incident came to light when the girl's mother and grandfather rushed to the terrace after they heard her cries. The boy then fled the spot but was later apprehended.
India not only needs strict laws to put such horrific cases to an end but also create awareness not just by education but by changing the atmosphere around people which is affecting the mindset of youth negatively.
