Last year, Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu made headlines when he shared that his wife, Navjot Kaur, had overcome Stage 4 breast cancer in just 40 days. Sidhu claimed that a simple dietary and lifestyle regimen played a significant role in her recovery.
He suggested that neem leaves, turmeric, apple cider vinegar, lemon vinegar, and intermittent fasting were key elements in the process. Sidhu further asserted that by depriving the body of food, cancer cells begin to die off naturally. His remarks sparked both admiration and controversy in the health community.
After Navjot Singh Sidhu’s claims about a diet cure for cancer went viral, indicating it was the sole factor in his wife’s recovery, it sparked responses from the medical community and public health advocates. In response to the controversy, Mr Sidhu issued a clarification, stating that the battle against cancer involved not just the dietary regimen but also surgeries, chemotherapy, hormonal and targeted therapy, and a determined will fight the disease. He emphasized that it was a combination of treatments, rather than diet alone, that contributed to his wife’s recovery.
