Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport has relaunched its most adorable ‘Pawful’ initiative which allows passengers to play, cuddle and interact with dogs at its Terminal T2.
The airport authorities announced that a delightful program at Terminal 2 features nine lovable dogs, specially trained to provide comfort and companionship to passengers as they begin their journeys.
The dogs that are going to provide companionship include a Maltese, a golden retriever, a rescued husky, a shih tzu, a Lhasa apso, a labrador, and other specially trained and selected dogs. The authorities expressed the excitement saying, "Travelling and taking a flight can be hectic and challenging for many, which is why we continuously seek innovative ways to enhance the passenger experience. Our Pawfect dog initiative, which was very popular before the COVID-19 pandemic, not only helps reduce travel-related anxiety but also brings a sense of joy and comfort to our passengers.”
It further reads, “These lovable emotional support companions will be available to greet travelers in the Terminal 2 departure area from Friday to Sunday, between 3 PM and 11 PM.”
The main goal of the “Pawful” initiative is to minimize the stress and anxiety that people often experience with air travel. Studies indicate that interacting with animals can help people to cool down and can be therapeutic. By allowing passengers to interact with therapy dogs, the airport wants to create a more comforting and enjoyable atmosphere.
These specially trained dogs provide you with companionship and comfort, helping travelers unwind and feel better. A quick pet or a few moments with these furry friends can provide a much-needed break from the busy airport environment.
