As the year comes to an end, Uber has solidified its place as the preferred means of transportation for a lot of working people. Delhi led the field in 2023 and took home the record for the most Uber journeys. This information is derived from Uber India's extensive yearly statistics report, "How India Ubered in 2023," which offers insights into the various travel trends seen in the nation's major cities.

The people who live in Delhi-NCR mostly use Uber for their daily commute to work, earning the region's title of having the most Uber rides overall. Remarkably, the nation's capital had the highest number of visits made during business hours, highlighting its crucial function in promoting occupational mobility.

On the other hand, Mumbai surpassed Delhi-NCR in the category of most late-night journeys scheduled. Uber has emerged as the go-to form of transport in the evenings, proving that the city that never sleeps keeps true to its title.

Kolkata, the city of pleasure, rose to the top of the weekend travel rankings as a result of its citizens' indulgent weekend travel. The study highlights the many ways that Uber is used in various cities, which are indicative of the distinct tastes and ways of life of the urban population.

Saturday was the most popular day to book rides

According to Uber's data, 6.8 billion km were travelled through Uber journeys in the year 2023. That's the equivalent of travelling over a thousand times, or about thrice a day, across India's 6.37 million kilometres of roads. The following cities have made important contributions to this milestone: Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata, and Delhi-NCR.

The survey also showed that Saturday was the most popular day of the week to book rides, and that journeys using Uber were most common between 6 and 7 o'clock in the evening. Remarkably, December emerged as the month with the most reservations for rides, propelled by holidays and occasions such as Durga Puja.
