Swarved Mahamandir, the world's largest meditation center, was officially inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. PM Modi, joined by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, inaugurated the seven-story temple on the second day of his tour.

The temple has seven stories, a stunning design, 125-petal lotus domes, and a seating capacity of 20,000 people. The Prime Minister opened the Swarved Mahamandir today, December 18, 2023, and it will now serve as the world's largest meditation center.

The temple is located in the Umaraha neighborhood, some 12 kilometers from Varanasi's city center, and it stands out with 3,137 verses from the Swarved etched on its walls. Sadguru Shri Sadafal Deoji Maharaj, known as "an eternal yogi and founder of Vihangam Yoga," wrote The Swarved, a spiritual classic.

PM Modi highlighted the combined efforts of the government, society, and spiritual leaders in the development of Kashi during the center's opening. His visit to Varanasi, which was part of a two-day visit to his parliamentary seat, featured a tour of the massive meditation facility with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

In his remarks, Prime Minister Modi praised the people of Kashi for their achievements in growth and innovation, as well as spiritual leaders. He emphasized India's historical importance as a worldwide beacon of economic success and growth, expressing pride in the country's past and its declaration of independence from a submissive attitude.

India's spiritual and sociological fabric

PM Modi referred to the Swarveda Temple as a modern representation of India's social and spiritual power, emphasizing the meticulous engravings of classics such as the Vedas, Upanishads, Ramayana, Geeta, and Mahabharata, which reflect heavenly teachings and reinforce spirituality, history, and culture.

PM Modi also emphasized the necessity of conserving cultural markers, stating that rebuilding of these key sites was required following independence. He bemoaned the absence of veneration for cultural identity, implying that such devotion may have bolstered national unity and self-esteem. Reflecting on past events, he recalled the opposition encountered during the restoration of the Somnath temple following independence, implying a prevalent attitude that lasted for decades.

The Swarved Mahamandir's establishment marks a watershed moment in efforts toward spiritual renewal and cultural preservation, fitting with Prime Minister Modi's goal for the holistic development of India's spiritual and sociological fabric.

Second Vande Bharat train

PM Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the world's largest meditation center on the second day of his Varanasi tour, as well as the second Vande Bharat train connecting New Delhi and Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh. This will be the second train of its sort, and it will be saffron in color.
